How far in advance should I shop for my gown?
Brides are typically encouraged to begin looking for their gown 9-12 months in advance. Gowns usually take 4-6 months to order, and the fitting/alterations process could take 1-2 months as well.
My plan is to lose weight before my wedding, so should I purchase a smaller size?
We recommend that you order the size you currently measure as, since it is easier to take in the gown if you lose weight, and harder to let the gown out. Alterations can make a loose gown fit perfectly, but may not necessarily be able to increase the gown´s size.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. This final sale policy is consistent with the industry standard for bridal and special occasion apparel. Due to the special nature of our merchandise, we cannot accommodate exchanges or refunds under any circumstances. Our vendors are unable to cancel or make any changes or modifications to an order once it has been placed.
What is a bustle?
Most bridal gowns have trains that are not detachable. The seamstress will add what is called a "bustle" when doing the alterations, which will allow the bride to attach the train to the back of the dress so that she can move more freely at the reception.
How long should I expect my visit to last?
It is best to allow 1hour to spend with your personal Wedding Consultant.
Do you offer payment options?
We require a 50% deposit when you order your gown, which is payable by cash or credit card. The final 50% is due when you pick up your gown. If you purchase a gown from our "In Stock" collection, you must pay in full at the point of sale.
Do you carry bridal accessories, such as headpieces and veils?
Yes, our stores offer a wide range of accessories for the bride and her bridal party. We also carry shoes, bras, handbags, and jewelry.
Are alterations included in the price of the gown?
Alterations are an additional charge. The cost of alterations varies depending on the style of gown, the fabric and the detail, and the amount of alterations needed. We feel that the alteration process is an important aspect of the bridal gown experience. Quality is paramount, and experience has shown that free alterations results in poor workmanship.
Why are alterations necessary?
When one of our wedding consultant measures you, the size of your gown is selected by matching the measurements that were taken with the measurements on a designer´s size chart. This does not mean that your gown is custom made to fit your measurements. Alterations are almost always necessary to achieve the perfect fit of your gown. The cost for alterations is not included in the price of your gown.
How do you determine which size I will order?
We have a size chart for each designer that we carry. We will take your bust, waist, and hip measurements and determine where you fall on the size chart. Gowns are made according to the size chart, and not custom to your particular measurements. Therefore you may need alterations about a month or two before the wedding to make the gown a perfect fit. Please keep in mind that extra size charges apply to certain sizes, and if you are over 5'10" you may need to order extra length.
How long does it take for a dress to come in?
Depending on the designer and the time of year, it may take 4-6 months for a dress to be delivered to the store. However, some designers do have quicker delivery times or offer a rush service for a fee.
